The author finds beautiful buildings with bright paintings in the Shekhawati district. After ten years of research, INTACH commissioned him to document these artworks. With local teacher Ravindra Sharma, they mapped and described 2,260 painted buildings over two and a half years, traveling by motorbike. They discover old writings by Colonel Lockett and Lieutenant Boileau from 1831 and recreate their journey, exploring local history and trade issues.
